Nice hat. Even some Nazi era flags were marked "Holland" one of which I have in my collection FYI.

My first thought was an NCO visor due to the double stitched welt.
I wonder when the blue cover first came to be on the cap - wartime replacement?
It'd be a nice addition to a KM visor collection IMO.

If the bill has not been resewn maybe this visor cap has been upgraded during his promotion to officer because it has all the features of a NCO cap (leather rim of the visor and the celluloid frame) Is that technical practicable i really don't know??? I bet the second stamp on the blue cover is J.P Mol as well but this time abbreviated with the letters J.P.M-B size of the cover which i think is 58 is that right?????? By the way it's the first J.P.Mol Km visor cap that i have seen so far what's your experience guys? There are a lot of duck caps how are made by J.P Mol but this,.......... I would love to obtain this interesting cap because of his Dutch origin.

I'm pretty familiar with what resewn visors look like so I'll really dig into this one when I get it next week. I really don't think it has been upgraded. I think it may have more to do with what was available at the particular time it was ordered. If it was upgraded I would expect to see a different level of wear between the visor and the rest of the cap. Everything looks pretty consistent to me in the pics.

The only military visor I saw in the Thread Kurt referenced on Mol visors was a Luftwaffe visor.

Also, Etienne said there was a KM school in Breda. Is anybody familiar with it?? I searched on the Internet for it, but found nothing

48RMC - When the time comes for me to move this hat I promise you will get first right of refusal. Sound fair?

          Thanks again for your comments!

Yes, the 14. Schiffsstammabteilung was located in Breda, they used three of the military facilities located in this town.

And here you have the context to those two Breda-made side caps that were posted in the other thread. At least the field grey uniform and the two side caps are tailored in Breda: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...highlight=lamp

                Hi Bob,
I really don't know but i try to find a solution about this riddle??? You may be right if this cap was upgraded the embroidering would be visible on the other side of the bill so that's sounds logic. I have no idea maybe they had made some alterations during their production process to compensate the wishes of demand?

Yes that's right there was a Km school in Breda during the war.

That would be great i would love to own this beautiful dutch cap Bob,
                Kind regards Christian

Christian, Kurt, and Michiel - thank you all for your inputs here

The pic of the 14 SstAbt is great. I'd love to think that an officer assigned to the school had a hat made because the one he wore on a U-boat was too thrashed for him to wear while assigned to the instructor cadre

Kurt, that group you posted the link to almost made me ruin the screen on my laptop Thanks for posting it!

Here's a link to a couple of photo albums showing 14. Schiffsstammabteilung in Breda that Ron (R.H.J.) posted.

                  Thanks again to all!

Sorry - here's the link to the albums R.H.J. posted: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ighlight=breda

Also, I'm posting this pic of Kplt Gerhard Bielig that I found on Google to show that the wider welt in wear. You can clearly see that the visor edge welt is very wide and looks as wide as the one on the cap I've posted here. Perhaps his cap is a Mol?

I think it is not only a fantastic example of a KM visor, it also has historical importance in that it is the only Officer visor made by Mol I am aware of.

                      Great score....

Thanks a bunch SM - glad you were able to stop by. The only other officer visor I've seen by Mol is a regular blue Luftwaffe officer's visor.

I do agree that this may be a rarity as the other KM Mol's have been EM/NCOs.

I love the pic of Bielig as it shatters the paradigm about KM officer visor edging.

                        Thanks again for your comments!
