SS Generals Cap Need Your Opinions Please

This cap was purchased by a friend of mine along with other items which were all genuine SS items (dagger, cuff links, watch, etc.). The photos provided are not the best quality and I will upload more for you to see. My question is: is this a 1940s original authentic SS general's cap? Your input is greatly appreciated.

One more picture of the interior

Here is one more picture to give a view of the interior of the cap. There are no markings or tags anywhere that can be found

        Unfortunately not a genuine cap.

Seen from the pictures, the eagle is Heer version not SS, and it looks much higher than normal, maybe added at sometime. Further more, the material and the piping are not correct. IMO not a good one

BTW, why you think it's General's visor?

This is a VERY poor reproduction skull. The cap itself looks to be bodged up from parts.

Because of the silver piping presumably.

I have not seen this hat in person....only the pictures, but the piping is silver. That is why I am saying it is a general's cap

                    Charlie,

IMO there are a few dead giveaways here. One is the piping - both the way that it is sloppily sewn and the fact that the wear to the piping does not match the rest of the cap. Someone added this to make the cap appear to be for a general.

Next you have the velvet capband. Besides the fact that it looks grey instead of black, the fabric itself looks wrong with such a thick nap.

The photos are small, and the interior is difficult to see, however the sweatshield looks like it may be plastic.

Lastly, the insignia are wrong. The totenkopf is a reproduction and the eagle is for Heer caps, not SS. This does not automatically make the cap bad, but just another indication that it was messed with along the way.

Sorry, the piping I see is white not silver

I would be really suspicious of whatever cuff links and "SS" watch came with this.

Really good input. Thanks. It looks like I have to give the buyer the bad news. I really appreciate your time giving me your input.

Here is the best picture of the cuff links, watch, and dagger that came with the cap. The seller said they were all acquired in the 1980s at an estate sale. I don't know anything about cuff links, rings or watches etc., but they look good to me in the picture. The buyer said that the dagger looks good to him. Sorry about the poor picture quality, but that is all we have to work with
