          I think cap is fine and has a good chance.

            I've been following POL M-43's recently and like what I see here as I have one on the menu to complete an ensemble. Not sure about the insignia/application though.

                I like it a lot, looks to be 101% correct.

                Here is one that was veteran brought back from the north of Italy in 1945 by a New Zealand soldier to compare with. Note that the badge configuration is the same except for the metal cockade. Also note the similar zig-zag stitch used to machine stitch on the eagle.

                The liner material and colour are also very close if not a match.

                You have got a good one there,

                Chris

                  Period photos from the very north of Italy of Pol. units fighting Tito's partisans.

                  You can see this type of badge configuration being worn on more than one of the M43's,

                  Chris

                    In these two images;

                    The upper image shows the one piece Pol. trap type of badge on the M43's. However note the bronze APB,s being worn (and possibly a bronze CCC ?). These Pol. units which fought the Partisans are completely underated by collectors of M43's today. What the New Zealanders saw in the north of Italy was absolutely brutal. Many in these photos would have had their throats cut if not worse in May 1945. I suppose a case of no mercy given and in return none was received.

                    The lower image shows the badge configuration of the M43 which started this thread but with single button,

                    Chris

                      Nice photos Chris, IMO the M43 & Bergmutze Polizei cap have the most variation types of insignia used
                      during the TR period, far more variation compared to the Heer and Luftwaffe caps.
