I just added the '9' and googled, and this came up...

            Kraftfahrpark-Ersatz-Abteilung 9

Das Abteilung wurde am 27. September 1942 in Kassel, Wehrkreis IX, aufgestellt. Die Abteilung unterstand dem Kommandeur der Kraftfahrparktruppe IX. Die Abteilung entstand aus der am 15. August 1941 errichteten Kraftfahrpark-Ersatz-Kompanie 9. 1944 wurde die Abteilung in Kassel zur Kraftfahr-Park-Ersatz- und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 9 umbenannt.

I'm intrigued by the eagle, Ed! Are the pins even going through the cap? Or are they broken off, thus the threads.

The eagle's right prong is intact and the left is missing...

Does the prong go through the cap, Ed? Or is it tucked back into the eagle? I just gots to know!

Thank you for your patience, Ed!

                        A very nice cap.
