    M43 with metal eagle..

    Hello,

I recently purchased this pict on ebay, it is a postcard, and a medical unteroffizier with RK armband and trade patch on his right arm.

What to me is slightly interesting is his cap - it has the metal eagle normally worn on the EM/NCO visor.

Can anyone tell me if this was normal.?..and maybe someone has an original example with the same configuration..?..would love to see that..

    Best,

    Hans Kristian

    eagle

Not often seen but can be seen even on Gen. Fritz Bayerlein's cap and a well-known photo of an NCO RKT with a beard (forgot his name).

It is simply an aluminum visor cap insignia attached (usually by pushing the prongs through the original BEVO insignia) for extra "bling".

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

I have seen dozens of period photos of metal visor eagles being worn on M43 hats.

Me too, it was a fairly common embellishment:
