    G.J. stamp question

hello guys, I was looking at this artillery officer's visor cap on stand. My question is, would a G.J. stamp or any similar stamp belong on an officer's cap? I always thought that those kinds of stamps were only found on EM / NCO caps.

It does not appear to be a unit designation, possibly a manufacturer's (subcontractor) ID and date.

Yes, it definately says G.J./1937 so more than likely as OSS says.
