Both caps are strange mainly the NCO one.
A definitive opinion seems to be impossible on these pictures. Even if many details are wrong, it should be not correct to kill this caps.
For me a hands expection is necessary.

Officers cap is 100% original and textbook, a shame the sweatband is a having a piece missing.

The NCO is probably a late war produced cap, it have a similar cap band as seen on BW caps but also on foreign made caps. The cap band alone can not make the cap bad as it looks ok from the photos provided. It would be interesting to know what the cap band is made of in this cap? Paper, gauze or Bakelite?

        Hi Peter

Good news on that sweat band in Officers is it is complete and I just manipulated it back to get the pic, very carefully . It is torn in some spots.

On the NCO you men the outer headband? Or the inner band. I imagine you mean the inner band, I will have to get up in it in the morning.

        Here is the outer band.

Ok, you mean the red center of the roundel? it is felt type gauze.

            Cheers,

              No!

The inside, the round thing the cap is built up around. The inside which holds the whole cap together which usually is made of paper (pasteboard).

The base of the cap...Yes it is a board like paper. I was wondering why the felt cockade center was of any interest! I always call the the national colors on an Imperial visor a roundel or cockade.

Yes, the felt piece in the cocade is quite uninteresting.

Take a pic of the paper pasteboard if possible, being of paper also indicates late war production or foreign manufacture.

                    Regards

Sorry Peter, but you can't use the words "textbook".

Hello all, from pictures I agree with some of you about these caps, I like the officer one, IMO it has a correct construction in all the details, but the NCO one would not be for me, IMO is not a period piece.

                            Hi

Both from same local appt with clasp and denazified minesweeper, no huge money exchanged. Iam more then skeptical the NCO is fake, just a hunch though, does anyone have any M 26 RW Cap pics? I cannot find any on the net.

I don't want to be "odd man out", but I don't associate the NCO cap with postwar construction.
