Black Side Cap ID Needed Please

This cap was a vet estate pickup. All the caps that came with it were WW2 German. The closest thing I could find to this one was NSKK, but it is different.
It is black (not very dark blue). The single button probably had a silver glossy finish (rather dulled now). I can find no evidence of it having had insignia. The top has flat silver wire trim. The inside lining is black with no markings.
Any help would be appreciated.

NSKK officers wore their piping on the turn-up (not the crown) and consistantly had two buttons at the front. This cap, while similar in shape to the NSKK Schiffchen and with a similar arrangement with the hooks and grommits, is almost certainly not NSKK (imo).
