    estand Infantry Officers Erel

    Hi Guys,

What could you guys tell me about this cap ?

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=681075

My area is military awards, but I would like to add a nice cap for display.

What would be the period of production?

Why do caps sometimes have metal fittings and sometimes cloth or a mixture of the two?

Any other information would be appreciated.

Looks like a very nice cap

Insignia use varies, so you will often see a bunch of different combinations. Then you get into EM vs NCO vs Officers caps and regulations, lol

Either way the cap on the estand looks very nice and my guess of the build date would be around 42/43

Very nice original Erel, probably not the original wreath/cockade.

        Thanks Guys,

I also understand visors come in "Standard" and "Extra"

Are these the only 2 manufacturing grades?

That's a large request to fill. If you look around using the search feature, there are plenty examples to examine.

Erel also used the "Ideal" grade

The patterns, materials, and overall "cut" of the caps vary across the different grades. As others have said, a thorough forum search will yield helpful results - this is a topic that has been discussed in detail.
