I ask on this one as I have one of these LW Tropical hats Milano maker stamped and was a estate pick up years ago before it was lucrative out there to make these things, I always thought that the lack of German made LW tropical caps in WWII war zones would warrant the ordering of Italian made caps to supply troops in North Africa and Italy. Interetsing that the Italian made eagle is flying backwards, possible the talior was using a LW helmet as reference. I think if I was going to repro these I would not make the eagle flying the worng way and would not make it with Italian markings.
