I have shown this to my buddy who is a little better at caps then I am and said did not usually see hats with markings like this one but more in clothing. Is irt correct or is it for the rad or something like that. I acquired this with a grouping of items out of Germany.

It's an early Bundeswehr one, hence the square "shadow" from the emblem.

The stamp (with sizes for a jacket) and RBNr, are later additions.
