    2x Luftwaffe overseas caps

Here are two more field caps that were in the pile of hats I recently bought. I plan to sell these, any comments are welcome. Both are in worn condition. Here is cap #1.

The lining shows a lot of wear, any markings have been worn away.

The insignia is hand sewn so neatly that I can only see a few stitches.

The hand stitching on the eagle is more crude than cap #1, however I still believe this is original factory applied insignia. Comments on the insignia application would be appreciated.

Interior. There are the fant and illegible traces of a large maker stamp and also an L.B.A.(S) 40 depot stamp that is faint but legible.

                  Both original IMO.

Thanks for the feedback. I like these, they are the first Luftwaffe overseas caps I have had. Tonight I spent a few minutes studying them under strong light, I am convinced the insignia are factory hand sewn- there is no trace of any previous insignia and these eagles really look like they have been there forever. Cap #1 shows the most wear and when I looked under the flaps I found this large stamped letter "A," it is not visible unless the flaps are folded down. The guy I got it from got this cap and some of the others from the veteran's nephew and I suspect this stamp may have been a bit of personalization by the first owner?
