Is this Skijager M43 any good?

    http://www.oakleafmilitaria.com/119h57.html

To my novice eye, It would be too easy to "assemble" a Skijager cap with real items thrown together to make one, how can you tell if it is an authentic skijager cap?

plus, I know the website has a spotty reputation.

I'm not sure that the Ski jager badge is any good. It looks like one of the repros that came out in the last decade. Without better pics I can't much more. In any case the badge doesn't look like its been there for 60 years. Regards Jim

Yours is one of two styles of production badges accepted as original. The fakes are based on this style. The one on the Oakleaf site is similar to yours. Without examining the front and back I can't say with certainty if the Oakleaf one is bad. My gut tells me it might be or at least requires a closer look. Regards Jim

PS Here is a picture of a fake commonly found on E Bay. I got the pics off the WAF but can't remember who they belong too. My apologies and I will remove if requested. Unfortunately pics won't upload, will try later.
