    RMBO officer's visor by Erel

I have been looking for an RMBO officer's visor with cotton thread insignia for quite a while now (only know of one more example made by Schellenberg) and just couldn't resist when a fellow WAF member offered me this one in trade.

    Enjoy the pics... Kurt

Next to some other headgear of the Reichsministerium für die besetzten Ostgebiete. The visor with the velvet band and metal insignia is a Clemens Wagner.

Wow nice one, Kurt - congrats my friend!! Were these more common with metal or billion insignia as opposed to the woven?

Kurt, fantastic addition to your collection! I think that is the first RMBO I have seen made by Lubstein.

BaselA, that's hard to answer as there aren't that many surviving examples. For obvious reasons, these uniforms were only used in the Eastern Territories & it's clearly not the type of outfit you want to be caught in when encountering your Soviet liberators.

From what I can tell with the limited photographic evidence so far is that lower ranks more commonly wore metal insignia but you also see bullion wreaths with metal eagles (as high up as Rosenberg himself). Cotton thread RMBO visors appear later in the war and they all have the distinct RMBO eagle vs. the Government Officials'/Diplo style example.

Beautiful...and that copper lining goes superb with the rest of the cap.

This is what I love about visors from other branches - you get so much more variety in makers and linings than us Lufty guys see.
