    Unknown Visor Cap - Finance/Justice

    Hello,

I recently got this one together with some othe caps. I have no idea what it is or from what period and if it's correct. I have searched in some books and contacted some friends but so far we couldn't find it. It lookl like the old prussian style caps and it's very big, size 62. Thats about it. Maybe it's some kind of official's cap?

    Regards Jim

      Jim,

the vibes I get from this visor tell me that it's an early post-war cap. Grey interior, maker sweat shield etc... never heard of the maker.

Stormstr. 18 in Hanover now hosts a different company: https://plus.google.com/106093023792...ut?gl=de&hl=de

There was, however, a guy named Edmund Weddige who won a shooting competition in a village close to Hanover (called Burgdorf) in 1929. Let's say he was 17 years old at that time, he could be a business owner in his late 30ies after the war.

Here is the link to the page: http://ksvburgdorf.com/index.php?page=geschichte

That's all speculation of course, let's wait for Enorepap, he will will be able to tell us what Edmund had for lunch the day he made that visor ... Kurt

I agree with Kurt. It is not in a known TR configuration for Justice, and I believe to be an early BRD cap that has been "Third Reichified"

Same address and phone number so it will indeed place the cap in the early post-war period. I will remove the eagle and sell both separate. Thanks

Continuing to dig up old threads but still very useful:

Unfortunately I saw this thread after three years. I apologize for the … er … slight delay.

From the 1941 Hannover Adressbuch a Weddige Edmund lived in Stormstr. 12 but there is no indication of any visors’ firm in Stormstr. 18:

Consequently, even in my opinion a postwar cap.
