Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

In fact it bears an uncanny resemblence to this one http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=645690

I do not think it is the type of flat grommet that you are thinking of Lenny that we were discussing towards the end of last year (see image posted below).

What is a worry about the type on these fake caps is that they are not dead flat. The magnetic grommet itself is rounded with proper crimping on the inside. This is just like the gold/ brass colored magnetic grommets on an M34 cap dated 1936 to 1938.

I can not work out however, if the slightly over-sized reinforcement washer is absolutely flat or has slight curve. Either way this is an interesting grommet and needs to be taken note of. It has obviously been artifically rusted so I presume that these might originally come with a bright modern chrome type finish that the faker has worked on to dull or paint up,

Spot on Chris with this reminder of a similar cap.
To be honest they are very obvious to pick as incorrect.
                cheers

Thanks for your post. I bought it in 1998 here in Spain, I always thought it was a fake but had not confirmed until today. Thank you.
