Based upon these limited pictures, this one looks good--however, the trim below the bottom piping should be Police mottled green wool, not white. Piping appears to be Weinrot, ie, for Gempo --but it maybe Gendarmerie orange--hard to tell.

Not really. Like I said, it should be green trim, but it may be a maker's mistake.

Can you get pictures under the sweatband?

Nothing stands out as being incorrect other than the white trim on the band, which could be a manufacturers mistake. I never heard of Mutzenfabrik Dressen Rheydt, but I see new makers every day.

Make sure the pasteboard is treated (not raw cardboard) and that there are no extra holes in the pasteboard.

What does the seller want for it?

                        Hallo Chris

                        Only a thin track:

I have an entry of 1956 for a Josef Windges of Rheydt, Bahnhofstr. 42, Mutzen u. Textilwaren-Fabrik.

Perhaps this company was already operating before the war and had an office in Dretzen, but I'm not currently able to ensure this and, as often happens, our German friends are a little fugitives ...

Enore--I think it is Mutzenfabrik Dressen. I don't know why Rheydt is there as well.

Nice original, Officer's grade summer Gendarmerie with early TR Po. insignia. Would soon change to M/36 model insignia. Good find!

                              Best,

                              Marcus
