Infanterie Offiz Schirmmütze..

Hello all,

I have this schirmmütze and I have some doubts about it.

Many things are good, and some not so good.


Outside; Nice but somewhat worn cloth, no holes or major damage. Trace after the eagle, 2 holes, although discrete. Nice wreath and cocarde, looks only to have been applied one time, what sticks into my eye is the chin cord buttons; they look much worn compared to the rest of the visor.
Inside; as you can see, size markings 58 and 2 letters that makes no meaning to me, leather sweatband, in very nice condition, no markings on the backside of this, the lining looks to be goldish, there is cork in the front,
The stiching inside – zigzag – looks fine to me.

Could I please have your opinion on this visor..?..

mmm...yes, I was expecting that, as it looks different in the small details from my other, confirmed, real visors...I will not cry over this..

I agree with the opinions that the hat is not Third Reich era. Since the details of it not being TR are so obvious, is it possible the the hat is some legitimate post war hat made to look like a TR cap? What could it be?

Thanks for the input, I am sure it is repro, but I cannot say if it is a cap from another era, or just a repro.
But I will not loose sleep over this one, cost me 65 euros, and, Hey, I have a nice example for learning. I will go over this one in details to see the differences to the 5 originals I have.
