    Luftwaffe Officers Visor

This came in to my collection earlier this year, I had been after an example for some time and when I was offered this I decided it was time and snapped it up.

Silver piped and overall in the exact condition I like items to be in.

All constructive comments welcome and I hope the images may prove of interest.

    Regards Richard.

I don't fancy the eagle either, the cocarde could be an original (much more used condition than the rest) but seems to added later on. Sorry!

I too agree that it's an Alteste repro. In addition to the characteristics already mentioned, another aspect peculiar to Alteste Luft visors is the narrow ribbed band, which is too narrow to accommodate an officer's style bullion wreath (speaking of which, are the bullion insignia on this hat even original?). That's why most of the Alteste Luft officer visors have the EM/NCO aluminium stamped wreath attached. An inspection of the forehead area beneath the sweatband should reveal prong holes to the lining's fabric or thru the pasteboard itself.

Nevertheless, if this hat is a larger sized Alteste Luft Officer's visor, I'd love the opportunity to purchase it!

If any of y'all in the collecting community has such a hat in the specified size, PLEASE private message me or shoot me an email; THANKS!

                  Gents

Thank you for your replies and the attached link.

Not quite the replies I was expecting however, as primarily a Luftwaffe document collector I should of carried out some basic homework and not trusted the word of the dealer as sacrisanct. My fault as I was too trusting I guess.

                  Thanks again Gents.

                  Regards Richard.

For completion if nothing else, I thought I would also post some images of the interior of the cap. There is no size stamping or indeed any stamping/marking that I can find at all.

(I will also post some images on the link provided earlier by stonemint)

One final question, with regards to the eagle, cockade, chin cords & buttons, are these all reproductions too?

                    Thanks for your input Gents.

                    Regards Richard.

                      Final two images.

If anyone requires any more images just ask. I hope the additional images might prove of some interest.

                      Regards Richard.
