i need some opinions.

Is this a original M38,it looks like it had ss-vt insignia or nskk applied.
Soutache is probaly post war.
What about the grommet position and construction.

Heer overseas caps typically have a seam running down the center of the crown.

Not one I would go for.

It is pretending to be a SSVT feldgrau overseas cap, you can see the triangular shadow where the SS eagle would have been on the side and the buttonhole for the metal Totenkopf button on the the front. I am not a believer.
