First time posting here as I don't have much German militaria. But I thought I would post this winter fur hat I just found. Nice markings but I don't know why it has an American name in it. US soldier pickup or sent home for a family member? This hat came from New York state.

Yeah I just wish I knew if that was the soldier that sent it home or what.. But it is a decent cap anyway right?
