M42 cap question

I have question on this M42 cap. I bought this nearly mint cap a couple of years ago. The ex-owner explained that one of ventilation hole was unfortunately missing then he offered reasonable price and I made a deal with him. I was convinced at that time but now I am doubting his explanation. The reason why my doubt is there are no ex-holes at the position of ventilation parts on the both inner/outer side. In addition to that I have found very similar M42 cap which has only one hole on the right side. (same manufacturer)

Eagle and cockade are hand sewn. I don't know if they are period applied.

I see a hole on the left side billbert i see an original m-42 cap with the left side grommet missing fallen out etc,quite common on these caps for some reason

Thank you for your comments. Here is the clearer photo of liner. There is no hole on the opposite side of a right ventilation grommet.
