Recent find from an estate sale. Only piece of uniform. A LW Soldbuch was kept by family. I could only buy the cap and several Manuals for Argus flight Motors AS 410.

    Cap is very small size. It seems like the top of the liner, maybe the complete top, was once removed and restiched. The cap seems to have never had the cloth loops under the earflaps.

    The lining is a very dark blue almost black. No markings visible. Maybe the lid was replaced wrong way round?

    The buttons are maker marked and dated 42.

    The leather sweatband is marked QUALITÄTSMARKE.

    I`d be grateful for any more info, authencitation etc.

              I think the cap is good, that being said, is it possible it was an officers M43 and had the silver piping removed so it could be worn after the war? Just a thought. That would maybe explain the ear loops are not applied, one row of stitching on the front scallop, an the partial sweat band. DL
