          Hope I'm wrong but I've never seen or heard of a tailored silk-top SS visor let alone what's supposed to be an issue silk-top visor

          As I say I REALLY hope I'm wrong.

                Ian- here is a copy of a later official SS price list that includes the silk-topped cap. They were indeed officially produced, just seldom purchased because of the high price!
