    Pz gren cap on estand

Maybe im just being overly cautious with such things but does this cap appear odd to anyone else? I mainly have a hard time with the way the maker seems to be way off center in the cap and the way the seam in the back appears to be coming undone. Granted it could just be from the years but would love to hear others thoughts. Matt

        Hi,

I have a 100% original, unmessed DRK visor which had an off-center sweat shield when I bought it.

When I got the visor I noticed the sweat shield being off-center and I started to get worried.

I had several closer looks at the visors' interior but couldn't find any red flags.

The only thing I noticed was the "out-of-shape" look of the visors' cap band....

But I also noticed that the metal spanner ring inside the visor cap's crown was not propperly installed,I removed the ring, installed it again and the sweat shield was back into it's center position !

Think someone had that ring removed one day and put it back in later.... the wrong way....

Does this visor has such a metal ring ?

        Best,

        Theo

          Theo,

No idea as its not mine and listed on the estand. I just get worried with visors as you really need to study each maker to know their intracacies and what not. I always just get edged out when I see something like this a bit off, makes me start to think it could be a Frankenstein cap. Especially when it comes to harder to find waffenfarbes, these things seem to be rebuilt all the time. I am hoping some of the heavy visor guys ring in on this visor. I think its probably good but again I just get concerned about the little things when it comes to visors as I am still learning a ton about these. Matt

            Matt,

I agree the sweat shield being off center is odd but as mentioned, the reatiner spring was most likely removed at some point and then reinstalled. It would be nice to get some pics of under the hood.

I"m far from a visor expert, but I like this cap.

The seller sent me some under the hood shots and im still 50/50. Would love to hear from some of the more experienced guys, as most of the visors I own are the early war ones. Matt
