"Elegant" Manufacturers' Shield in Visor?

Is anyone familiar with the manufacturers' marking in visor caps? Is it an original wartime manufacture, and if so, does this look like their mark?

I'd appreciate the help.

" Elegant " appears to be a generic term used by a number of smaller makers.

There is one that is the same as yours in this thread owned by Paul. However, as you can see, he has his doubts on his cap:
