      Sure mate,
This thread is actually quite a good one for comparison purposes.
Does the crusher you posted fit with any of the other examples posted here?
      Not really..

        cap

        Hi Ben

Comparing the cap, (with the unique construction pattern of a crusher cap) against different variations of Schirmmutzes is problematic at best IMO.
If there a definitive red flag to the cap I’d be keen to know.

Well, I'm comparing the lining, sweatband and tag with logo with the other Gierisch caps shown here and there aren't many similarities.

Could you post a close of the tag please? I see it says mutzenfabrik which none of the others have.

Agree there aren’t many similarities; however there are discrepancies to be found with the lining and construction with the other posted caps, Eg; The HJ cap has a total different liner with a folded leather sweat band application (similar to the Recon crusher cap) in contrast to the stitched bands on some of the others.

The logo is printed on silver card with what looks to be a black stencil applied over it, very high quality workmanship. The celluloid shield has been machine stitched over the top. With such a small sample it not possible to say that Gierisch didn’t modify their logo at some time.

Comparing the cap with other crusher caps it conforms in all aspects of a period construction and material used. Rayon Lining typical used in crusher caps.
