          Thanks, fellas! The rest of the estate sale takes place today, and the gal that picked this up from the estate will be trying to get the capturing veterans' name and unit.

          I'm actually hoping it's a US guard acquisition from one of several German POW camps here in the area. We had gobs of DAK soldiers here at the time.

              Nice M40 GbJg cap. I like that three of the four washers are applied backwords. Perhaps it was St Patricks day when the washers were applied

                Awesome cap! Since it's a later model without the Soutache, I would say that the cap belonged to a member of the 756th Gebirgsjäger Regiment IMHO.

                    Would agree about it being C. Halfar as his caps sometimes are seen with the eyelets placed further back from the scallop turn up and wider spaced. A truly nice score and a rare hat.
