I would be VERY gateful if anyone can verify either thru in person observation, hands-on experience, or from wartime photos whether a custom tailored Officer's M43 for a left-handed (or one armed) soldier ever existed? In other words, is there a chance a hat could be constructed so that the button holes are found on the left fold-down side/ear flap & the buttons attached to the right fold-down ear flap?
Please look at the photo below of a REPRO M43 in this configuration & PLEASE offer any insight, proof, or opinions about whether such hats were ever made like this during the war.
THANKS!
