Hi Don,
I think it is there on the front, although it is not as pronounced as you would normally see. By that, I mean that the amount of velvet like material connecting the visor to the sweatband, is not a much.
We could see if the Tom (the seller) could tell us if there is material there for the stirndruckfrei system?
Except for the stirndrukfrei system being lacking, it seems the pleating of the liner is non existent as well. Looks like a transplant took place to me. jacques
Based on these pics, it looks like a righteous mid-war Schelly. The stirndruckfrei system is not as apparent compared to CW, Pekuro or Erel, and only exists in the front. You can see it--it is the whitish material that is partially visible.
Does the hat have any signs of insignia having been placed on it?

Hi to all,
i`m just a steel-helmet collector, so i am absolute not experienced in such hats.
I just can say, that i found it on a flea-market (for 15 Euro) because the seller thougt its NVA (GDR-Army).
I now, "just buy the stuff and dont buy the story" - but thats all i can say.
The Question from stonemint:
Does the hat have any signs of insignia having been placed on it?
yes, there are two small holes for the eagle, and also two for the "Kokarde"
Should be visible by my pics.
