        Hi Glenn,

This leads us to the somewhat bigger dealers ,who are totally aware of these items IMO..
I'm always wondering about the "super" stuff on some dealer's sites and the amount..guaranteed for life..
But I still find the "reenacting" business very dangerous indeed..
Just suspicious ,also have pills for that..

You are very right Jos, (were do you buy your pills )I recently received an officers M43 Bergmutze from a very well respected dealer which in turn was a fake made from original materials etc.
It was very disheartning to say the least, but he did admit he made a mistake, just real glad I noticed it, as considering the source from which it came I hesitated to question it and the sellers knowledge.

I still in fact wonder if he knew it was bad or just made a mistake

As the old saying goes buy the item not the dealer no matter who it is
And I mean s******t this cap was $1500 USD

            Glenn.

Well, well, seems the most smelly collection in Europe is for sale now? Hey Manny, don't forget to provide the buyer with a couple of gasmasks, he may be "nicely" surprised by the smell of a few dozens of soldiers' boots

                      Hi Theo,
to be perfectly honest I quite cannot understand what you really mean by that !
My collection is not for sale at all,and from time to time I clean my closets up to make room for other uniforms and let surpluses and double/triple items go but for all you care the following items which are "surplus" in my collection soon will be on the e-stand........as long as someone won't get them first:
                      1)M40 tunic
2)Mint HBT BLUE LW 4 Pocket tunic
                      3)Mint M43 Tropical tunic
                      4)Mint,never-issued Nachrichten fliegerbluse!
No boots though....the other day a very fast member snatched a pair of mint M37 low-boots after I had found an unit-stamped identical pair, this way I've had mine(nearly) for free and our friend has sent me a few emails telling me that he can't wait till those boots will be on his mannequin and that he still cannot believe he has found a genuine,1942 dated,MINT pair of WH-Issue low boots!
The fact that my surpluses could in some instances be the main attractions of some collections it's something that could only make me proud rather than sad!
                      Best Regards
                      Manuel

Ok, Ok, a special explanation directly from Sofia to Montecarlo

Someone said, that if the cap is wrong, then he will divorce, sell everything and go to live with the lizards in the desert.

So, after the cap turned to be fake - pardon me, repro , you declared joining him in the desert with the lizards. That is why, as you follow one of the lines in the bet, I thought you follow the other two as well /2. no women and 3. collection sale/

The smelly collection - everytime someone asks about boots, you appear with your great knowledge about them and show nice examples. So, you seem to have a collection of boots. And how can boots be not smelly, smelly boots collection /ok, ok, I very well know then are not smelly at all, I have a couple of pairs, too./

This has nothing to do with the things you sale/sold at estand or whereever, it is just a joke ...scherzo

                          Hi Theo,
now I understand!I felt all along that the cap was a repro with a 98% of possibilities of being such, but I couldn't possibly ask for serious, professional opinions starting the thread with "Hey guys....take a look at this repro...is so well made that it can be real....your opinions please!
If you read the last line I say"I'd neverheless would like to discuss it with you"...and so Feld came out with a lot of info about a new generation of fakes and we exchanged a series of PMs discussing the many details fakers have recently added to their pieces!
It's so well made that our friend Tony said that if this was a repro he would have moved to a desert land and I seconded him, since this repro would have easily decieved(When seen in photographs...but also in the flesh, depending on the knowledge/experience of the collector examining it!) many people, last but definitely not least our friend Jos who is, as anybody knows, one of the most advanced, informed and experienced collectors of this forum!
As you've surely noticed, I have deleted all the most"dangerously eloquent"pictures from the thread in order not to help fakers and improve their "attention to detail"correcting here and there and swapping a detail for another!
I'm in Switzerland at the moment ....CHRIS is on the Riviera...having fun and pretending he doesn't know how to truck !
On to the "smelly" collection now;I got it in the first place Theo !
                          Take Care
                          Manny
P.S.;there are no repros around....the Blayd's collection Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero is a 3435657% perfect repro down to the last tiny rivet(excepting the engine!) of this famous fighter...........what we see each day are FAKESmade to decieve by a bunch of bastards who'd be hung by their family jewels !

                                Hi Glenn,
even if I've bought one item from this dealer(if he's the 'hysterical q##r I mean !) which I'm totally satisfied with(the item!)...if I'd point all the(imho) iffy and erroneously-described pieces he does have amongst his listing I'd be walking the plank in two seconds splits from my posting!
The more a dealer is an "Trusted Authority"the more I run away from him, because in the vast majority of cases these "authorities" take adevantage of the esteem people(nearly always customers!)keep them in and stick it to them in return..........and customers are happy;"Hey,I've been f#cked big time but...what the heck....it was John Holme's so I reckon I must be thankful!" and when the customer realizes that he's bought one of these pieces the dealer,to save his reputation from being shot, nearly always thanks profusely, apologize for the "error",stamps the biggest smile he had lying around on his face and handles(or sends)the money back....only to practice a voodoo and a couple of macumbas against you for having been smarter that him a minute later!
