    Infantry em/nco’s visor cap

    Hello gents,

I would like your opinions about this infantry visor cap.
    Made by Otto Linde.
Good condition but I have some little doubts about its authenticity.

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards.

    F.

From the photos, it looks OK to me. Repair to the sweatband? We are all in real trouble if very common enlisted infantry caps are being reproduced! Then again, I wouldn't be surprised.

Thank you, i'm waiting for other opinions too.

      Is Otto Linde a well-known manufacturer ?

It is a good George A. Hoffmann, Berlin visor. Sweatband has been re-sewn.

          I don't recognize the stamp of G . A . H.

          So why Otto Linde ?

Isn't that small logo that of Berolina? I assume Linde was a distributor?

Yes Bob, I agree with your clear explaination. It is the logo of Berolina.

Nice looking, private purchase cap, very similiar to one that I have, made by Hans Petry.

Overall, I thought it looked good. SB repair, no big deal, I actually like it. What made me look twice was the amount of interior and sweatband wear versus the wear ( or in this case, the lack of wear) on the underside of the visor. Except for some very slight chipping at the edge, it looks virgin in these pictures. Not even a hint of a thumbprint or a wee bit of grime? I just thought that was a little odd. Then again, what do I know.

To the OP, you said you had some doubts about the cap? What were they?

                      Hello,

Dave, my doubts were exactly for the perfect state of the visor in despite of the other parts and because of any information found about Otto Linde. I thought that this cap was made of different parts from different periods…
But personally after your opinions I don’t plan to buy this one.

                      All the best.

                      F.
