This one's new for my collection...
In period ww II DRK manuals / books this cap is called a cap of the "Gebirgsunfall dienst" or mountain resque service.
It looks like a m43 cap but it isn't,nor is it a GJ cap.... it's the predecessor of the classic m43 cap and was introduced in 1938.
Note the full leather sweatband and the center seam (no overlap with button(s) at the front with the metal cockade.
This is a salty DRK cap so the "charcoal grey" color (the color used by the DRK) is a little faded because of heavy duty / storage.
Cap has a 1st. pattern metal cap eagle and a metal cockade.
