    Thoughts on General's Visor Cap

I would appreciate opinions on this visor cap's originality. WW2 manufacturer or post war made? I have some doubts iff it's period made, but would like to know what others have to say.

    Thank you

These are all the pics I have at the moment. I will try and get more showing under the hood.

MHL13, my thoughts are that your pics don't show enough to say anything for sure. I will start with what I can see.

Outside: while the color of the cap band seems a bit off, this could just be the camera, so possibly no big deal. Then there is the piping (which you always want to look at on General's caps). It does look like it might have been replaced (impossible to tell from a distance, can you post close-ups?). Then there's the shape which was screwed up by connecting the chin cord buttons through a string.

Inside: from what I can see, the sb and bill are typical original Lubstein products. The "eReL" marking looks unusual but I'm not one of these Erel geeks who will be able to tell you the exact date and time of maufacture by looking at the way the "ges. gesch." is printed. Let's hear them if this is fake or not.

You will need to provide some under the hood shots and close-ups of where the piping joins at least.

          Hope that helped... Kurt

            Kurt,

Thank you for the reply and your insight.

Although I don't have any pics "under the hood" as of yet, I enlarged the existing pics for a little better clarity.

In addition to the padded peak, I don't care for is the slight wave in the upper and lower piping. Together it makes the visor look cheap, but I would like to hear what others have to say.

Note the overlapping sweatband in the rear. Is this typical of eRel Visors?

                  A mildly convincing Franky.

I agree with Brian, Frankenstein. I don't like how the quadrants are positioned - see post 27 -or how the SB is attached.

Pretty good Franky, but still a Franky non the less.

teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Thanks, guys. I figured there was something wrong with this cap and you all confirmed it.

                              Thanks again
