The lining looks rather linen like, and the hat looks rather squashed in appearance? Can you make out the maker? That might help as it looks possibly foreign made.

I do not believe that the cap has ever had any piping ...
and no, unfortunatly, it's impossible to guess any
wrting about the tailor who made this headgear !

well, i can't say for sure it is a fake, but i would not keep it in my collection :
too much "disturbing" points like grommets, linning, lack of sweatband and of any soutache appliation.
just my opinion of course

It could be interesting to estimate the year of production,
probably the RBNr. introduction...
