LW side cap KM side cap opinions

Caps are not my forte but since both of these turned up in an antique store I thought I would ask. Thanks to those of you who encouraged me to get pics. First the Luft cap. I am not hopeful on this one.

KM hat, which I am not liking because the stamping has a paris label but as I said I know little about these things.

                Chris,

Your suspicions are confirmed, at least on the LW cap. Very bad piece.

There were some old linen armbands I will post on the insignia forum as well as an FJ stickpin. I am not hopeful about any of it.

                    Hi Chris,
I agree with Gene on the LW cap.
The KM Bordmutze on the other hand may be ok.
The marking looks like the "Chapeliere Parisienne Paris" maker stamp, which is legit for KM.
Would need better pics to be certain.

Well, it was a pretty blurry stamping but it could have been that as the last two words had the "...ienne Paris". The cap insignia was put on before the lining was put in which is a good sign? The top fold had been whipstitched closed to by the soldier to give it a military appearance. The cap had a nice feel to it and was soft. If it is real, what is a KM sidecap worth? Thanks, Chris

The insignia stitching and top fold stitching are both good signs.
A real KM bordmütze in nice condition will cost about $250 USD.

                          Chris,
Do you know someone you could send the cap to for authentication?
If the price is right, I'd take a chance on it, provided that you could return it.
The French-made KM caps are super-cool IMO.
