Hello fellow collectors.....
Yesterday,I had (another...) discussion with a fellow collector about the early type of brass ventilation grommets found on early caps.
Some say these grommets look "odd" and can be found on fake caps.....
I'm a collector of German Red Cross headgear (DRK) and I have some 100% original caps in my collection which have these brass grommets.
I have a very early m34 overseas cap (1934-1935) , an overseas cap with 1st. pattern DRK cloth cap eagle (1935-aprox. 1938) and a cap of the DRK mountain resque service (this is NOT a m43 cap nor a traditional GJ cap... it's a private purchase predecessor of the later m43 caps) this cap is also dated to the early 30's...
ALL 3 caps have the same type of brass grommets.... and all 3 caps are 100% original
What's your opinion about these grommets ?????
