yes seems that there are irregular in grommet as per you pic and what I mean is my crimmping piece does not go out as far so i have more flat edge then the pic posted

on your pic, it seems the crimping doesn't realy "stick" to the washer, and there are smalll spaces pointed by red arrows :



maybe the washer is too flat ?

but all in all, imo, only considering this very specific point of grommet's manufacturing, at least it is not "one looker" part of this sidecap, and without close examination in hands, i think it is wise to consider it out of my zone of comfort.

just my 2 cents of course.
