It's an olive green Heer cap, not blue.

      AK Bug

Thanks for all the comments. I usually like stuff in better condition, but the well used Army Cap with a Luft Breast eagle that i posted above just sung to me. Now, I am thinking that I need a well used tropical luft tunic to go with my cap.

I think that I caught the AK bug. I pulled out a Heer tropical Cap and Tunic that I have had for years and took a few quick snap shots.

My Heer tunic is very early, so I probably need an early minty Heer M41 with schutzen green soutache.

Darn, it so hard to focus

        inside of cap

Inside shot, Cap was one of the many that came out years ago. I should be on safe ground with this cap, but let me know if you think otherwise.

The LW convert is outstanding !

Cap is an original, still with the originally applied insignia. Hard to tell from the photo if the tunic is an earlier or later version, but would need to know the upper pocket length from the inside, or see a full length photo of the tunic to be sure. Or is it dated perhaps ?

Cap looks fine to me and your 1st pat tunic is a really nice 1940 dated example, you must be happy with this one
                Cheers

                  Tunic

Roger that, it actually looks better in person. It is realy mint. The boards are neat and appear original to the tunic, they hug the shoulder. It also has a couple of sets of original loops. I guess that they do not come much earlier than this.

No wonder I have not been able to find a cap, pants and boots to match.

                    Pat ,,
Here are my 2nd model boots ,, They do turn up but they are much harder to find than a field cap ,, Collecting Afrika related items can be hard but is very satisfying
                    Cheers

What a great cap that started this thread. Have a look at this color video of flak men in Tunisia wearing green Army caps with what appears to be Luft shirt or tunic eagles attached to them midway through the video (starting at 1:20):

I would recommend that all Dak collectors should sit down for a few mins and view this one
