There's something about this cap that I don't like and don't know what it is...I do hope to be wrong, Andi.

The lining materials color is a little bit unusual, perhaps it is unworn. But i have a Pz-sidecap from the same marker with exact the same stamp.

I had thought that the front support piece was dropped before the use of the 4 air vent style (2 each side) that came about in 1941-42? Maybe there was an overlap......in the introduction of the 4 vents and the inside front support piece?

This is presented to be a contract cap.....but I have not seen the partial front only headband used in contract GBJ caps....I would think even more odd to see it in green like this. I've seen this plenty on officer M43, OS and GBJ caps....private purchase non contract......but is it OK for this type of cap?? All that I recall seeing from this early 40s timeframe is the tan-brown full leather band being used on these issue caps.

I have another Bergmütze from Keller with 4 Vents and the stiffener at the front, so that is not a problem for me.
I can´t tell you more about the green leather.

Doesn't give me a good feeling either
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
