Your Thoughts On this M41 Tropical Hat

    Hello,

I'm interested in this M41 tropical hat and would like you expert opinions on it. At first glance I liked it, however, I noticed that it has steel air vent grommets instead of zinc? Also, I have never heard of this maker? The rest of the hat seems good.

Any and all comments are welcome. Thank you and best regards, Steve

          Steve,
          It's a good late war m40
The cockade looks a bit flimsily sewn but nothing else worries ma in any way. The grommets are fine - just another magnetic type found on mid/late war caps.
          Regards,
          Mark

Thank you Mark, I thought it looked good but I'm not an expert on these particular hats. Best regards, Steve

Yes, looks to be hand sewn.

Frank, good eye, it does look like it is hand sewn? Best regards, Steve

Agree - that's my concern, too Frank. Looks like a poor effort to replicate a machine stitch.

I also think someone reapplied (or replaced) the insignia; not only is it unconvincing (as machine-sewn) but there appear to be disruptions in the fabric where the original insignia was once attached.

                      Hi Steve

Agree with OSS, insignia looks re-applied. Grommets are fine as is the cap.

                        Yep - You're right, Tim
Eagle also re-aplied....slipped past me that time

agree on the eagle and cockade being restitched but still a nice later war M40 cap. Matt
