Qustion About This Photo

Here is an interesting/great photo from 1939 showing some very fine TR visors. My question is the SS visor in the background as it looks to have some sort of protective wrap (from rain???) around the center band of the visor! Was this typical to only protect the center band and not the rest of the visor? Curious if any one else has seen this.

Yes it is an Umpire/Maneuver band. Not a common photo with SS have scene it in photos on Heer Visors though. Dave.

yes, look at the shoulder boards, has a stylized D for deutschland regiment, not something martin borman would ever be entitled to wear, and borman was much fatter!
