Roman numerals on EREL visor caps

I heard that certain EREL visor caps have Roman numerals (V, VI, VII, VIII etc.) stamped on the cap lining that corresponds to the actual size of the cap. Since so far I only have one EREL visor cap (an Offizier Kleiderkasse "Extra") which does not have the Roman numeral marking, I wanted to hear people's thoughts on (1) how prevalent the Roman numeral size marking is on EREL visors (only certain models like "Privat" have it?) and (2) whether the lining marking absolutely must match the size of the cap. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I have never seen them stamped, only written in in ink. It don't think it is unique to Erel, as I have seen it on other maker's caps as well. I measured a few of mine just for ****s and giggles over the years and they always were accurate within a coupe of mm. I have also had Erels that did not have the numerals.
