    Floch o' Fakes

These are very high-end ground-up fakes that need a thread of their own.
They can be traced to a European dealer, and I am not going to get into the back and forth discussions on him or his wares (use the search function for that).

Most are rare color-piped LW visors--here for Engineers:

I was told this HPC was from the same source:

                    Chris,

Well if you can't give us any clues as to who this criminal mastermind is, then I must say "floch you" in the kindest way possible.

In that case we have the evidence that a marke standard logo it's not enough to testify for a genuine Dalluege.

Interesting, I remember that GJ cap from an ioffer auction a few years ago (I right-click saved the pics too). I was sorely tempted to bid on it but even then something about it didn't sit right with me. Nothing I can pinpoint but you know how it is--sometimes things just scream out at you and this one wasn't doing it.

Thankfully I was away from the computer when the auction ended or I might have given in against my better judgement. I think it sold for about $750.

Good move. Easiest "tell" is the fact that the hat does not contain what is advertised--ie, the pateneted multi-vent Frischluft system and the forehead-cushion system (stirndruckfrei). All are high-end ground-up fakes from the 1990's.
