Naval Officers Visor Cap Some Expertise Needed

I have not had alot of experience with German Visor Caps and am anxious to learn more. Could I please get some opinions as to the originality of this cap. The photos were taken in fluorescent light and the insignia looks brighter than it actually is. I question the grade of wool used here for a higher ranking officer. The chinstrap also is different than most not having a button or buckle built into it. The threads under the visor were not trimmed after production and left as you see them in the photo. It came out of an estate so I have no history or story. It appears to have not been used as it shows no signs of wear and has no stains. Thank you in advance for your time.

Leroy, I can't find the thread that commented on this visor. I did see it in person at the SOS some 5 years ago (it was not being sold by Oakleaf at the time, but by some small dealer).

The hat looked good to me, the only issue being the "scrambled eggs" not touching the edge of the visor trim. If I recall correctly, the dealer wanted $6500 for it back then:

Look at the Oakleaf site, Item 102H6 (which is the same hat as in Post 5). Perhaps it was on another forum, but someone said the underside of the visor was characteristic of postwar construction. (Personally, I am not at all sure that that is correct.)

The frist cap is without any doubts a very bad reproduction.
I'm with Leroy for the second cap. Its that type of KM cap I would not have in my collection.

OK, so that's the issue. (I thought it was the lining) I call these undersides "corrugated". Yes, they did exist during the TR, but are infrequently seen--I have some pics on the forum of these types somewhere.
