With 5 days left, methinks that the final price will be much. much higher. Looks like a great example, though.

Personally I do not like it very much. Eagle for one looks to have been reapplied. So mint seems a bit of overstatement. For me an unused alter art is like a virgin hooker, odd but hardly satisfying.

Personally not the way I like them, but this was once owed or maybe still owned by someone with much more knowledge then me in the alter art field.

Nice piece, later war with the woven band.

I owned this cap a few years ago. Here is the thread I started.

Just read that old thread. A lot of early misconceptions on it.

The hat is a 100% wartime Pekuro with a vulkanfiber (instead of leather) visor, consitent with this being one of their later caps. Same is true for the style of piping and band.

I'm certainly no authority. Just 50 years of accumulating and observing.
Only comment is on how everyone sems to ignore the horrendous unprofessional "tack" stitching on the eagle.

Looks like a myopic 10 year old's half hearted effort.
                  What's up with that?

                      blah

The low hammer price speaks for itself. I have to sit on the fence with this one. Weird materials. For the money, I would have to stick with the typical materials and construction, even in worse condition.

I can see the "winner" having trouble trying to sell it in the future.
