    Opinions on Heer field cap

    Hi guys,

I need opinions on this Field cap.
In my verry limited expertise of German WWII items it is a original one. With some wear and period field repairs.
Was worn in a PoW camp that is why the eagle was cut off from the cap. It is still with it, the original one !

Let me hear some opinions and if there are needed some better photo's please ask !

    Thanks

Looks like it might be a m-42 cap with visor added hard to tell from your small pictures, can you post larger ones and grommets
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Looks to be an original M42 with added visor. I would say the blue/grey lining was most likely post war added due to the original lining being worn out,or torn out.

            Glenn,

This may be correct as this cap was used by a German which was a PoW and worn it after the war nevertheless.
There were some post-war repairs on it.
Any other opinions are welcome ! And would this cap look okay on a Battle of the Bulge display?

            Thanks

Looks like a nice cap, for me a post war repaired cap would not fit in a display but that's everyones choice in the end.
