Hi Ron,

Nice and interesting DRK cap.
Interesting because I think this is somekind of transitional cap.
It looks like a 1st. pattern overseascap which was changed into the final model.

The early caps had an overlap of the cloth at the front (I've marked this with the red arrows) two buttons,the greyish-white soutache at the front covered with a 1st. pattern cloth DRK eagle (which was sewn on top of the soutache).

Are there any traces of the cloth eagle at the front of the cap ?

It looks like the 1st. pattern cloth eagle was removed in the past and a 2nd. pattern eagle was sewn on the left of the cap,thus making it a "2nd. pattern DRK overseas cap".
