Need opinions on this Artillery Visor

    Hi all,

I'm considering this Artillery visor cap for purchase. I've seen this maker before, and nothing stands out to me as having been replaced, but I'd still like some opinions before I pull the trigger. Looks like a really nice, minty cap!

    Thoughts??

    Thanks!

Nice Clemens Wagner visor, with a fake SS chinstrap, silk liner, a possible officers visor?
    Regards,

Hi Gary, thanks for the feedback.

I thought the chinstrap was a problem as well.

Also, this one has an aluminum embroidered cockade. I would not consider myself an expert, but I don't recall seeing many EM/NCO visors with the custom cockades, mainly officer caps. Your theory about this possibly being officer may be correct.

The bullion wire hand embroidered type was pre 1941/1942 also for EM/NCO caps allowed. I'm not shure exactly when however those were also allowed for EM/NCO.

IMHO, it is a private-purchase NCO visor. I have seen SS-style (it could be DAF) on Heer caps, so it could just be the maker using what was at hand.

Look under the hood for signs of previous metal insignia.

Chinstrap is a classic Reddick fake, either way...
