...so much of a time warp that the interior looks like it was constructed yesterday. Unbelievable!

Just curious why the majority of admin caps are always quick to be judged as Gebirgsjäger when clearly their not?? Just because someone pops a edelweiss on a cap does not make it mountain troops.

A link for those who have forgotten what a true mountain cap color should look like although I don't care much for the cap

Bergy, there is a lot of variation among makers in GJ green--from a medium dark to a borderline PzG. The shade of green in Casey's is too light for Beamte.

Beamte should be the same color of the band (and we know this does not occur all the time, either).

I accept your opinion but I think you are not right:
                          1. I have an admin waffenrock and the colours are much darker green than this green of this visor cap
                          2. This visor comes directly from the vet. It was lying in a cupboard closed in a hard carton box. There was also the gebirgsjäger tunic and the gebirgsjäger field cap. Both were totally "corroded" by a mouse and moths. Some steps away from the cupboard there was a nest where you could see the cloth parts of the uniform...A desaster but fortunately the cap was closed in this box.

I know it´s easy to "pimp" an admin cap but this cap is not a pimped admin cap...

Fair enough. I dont necessarily think it isn't what you say it is as obviously the majority feel it's good. I just feel these admin and jäger colors are way too close too call . The cap I linked to in this thread would be the way to go but then again I personally like to play it real safe. Look, if you like it and the other cats here like it, then that's all the matters.

Your cap looks like it could be sitting on the shelf on any WWII German uniform store, quite mint. Congratulations!
